We don't ship — our mochi is made fresh daily and is best savored in person. A trip to Hilo to pick it up is half the experience!
Everything is made fresh daily — never frozen. Mochi is softest and most flavorful within the first 24 hours. Fruit mochi in particular (especially strawberry) is best enjoyed the same day it's made.
Taiyaki — our fish-shaped cake — is available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Quantities are limited, so we recommend arriving early or calling ahead.
Taiko Manju is made on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Call ahead if you want to make sure it's available when you visit.
Yomogi (mugwort) mochi requires a minimum pre-order of 12 pieces and must be ordered in advance. It's a traditional favorite — earthy, fragrant, and unlike anything else we make.
Strawberry mochi is available most of the year, but some fruit varieties are seasonal depending on availability. We always recommend calling ahead to pre-order fruit mochi to guarantee your selection.
Mochi is a soft, chewy confection made from glutinous rice, usually filled with sweet bean paste or whole fruit. Manju is a baked Japanese sweet with a tender golden crust — think of it as a soft pastry filled with the same sweet fillings. Both are made here daily.
No — none of our products are vegan.
Mochi itself is made from glutinous rice and is gluten free — however, some of our fillings are not. Items that contain gluten include our Brownie, Oreo, Butterfly, and Marshmallow mochi. If you have a gluten sensitivity, please ask us before purchasing.
We work with walnuts and peanuts in our kitchen. We cannot guarantee that any item is free from cross-contamination. If you or someone in your family has a severe nut allergy, we strongly advise against consuming our products — even items that don't appear to contain nuts may have come into contact with them during preparation. Please err on the side of caution.
All mochi is good for up to 3 days. Fruit mochi (like strawberry) must be stored in the refrigerator. Non-fruit mochi should be kept at room temperature.
You can also freeze non-fruit mochi — it'll keep for up to 2 weeks. Just take it out to thaw before eating. Fresh fruit mochi cannot be frozen.
We accept both cash and card.
